For those of you who attended the Inspiring Communities workshop last year, you might remember that one of the actions we discussed adding to the Community Development Strategy was to organise one or two in-person gatherings throughout the year, where we go check out some different projects.

There is a lot happening down in the Teviot Valley right now, so let’s start there!

Save the date: Sunday 8 August, 2021
Time: 11am-4:15pm-ish

A bus will leave from Alexandra at 11am. This opportunity is free to attend, but spaces are limited, so please do register if you intend to join us.

We will visit 5 projects:

– Teviot Valley Intercultural Mural

– Roxburgh Skatepark

РTeviot Woolshed where the community are in the process of putting up an interpretation panel

– Millers Flat Bakehouse

– Millers Flat Hall (Council owned and community run)

We will share bread from the Millers Flat Bakehouse and some warm soup at the hall, and have an opportunity to connect and network with others from across the district. The Roxburgh Swimming Pool committee will also give us an update on their community-driven pool upgrade!
