Earle Haymes shares about his working life and the many various occupations to interest a young man. He talks about his time working for the Agricultural Department after leaving school, Finagan’s Freezing works, and then as a rabbiter in a fumigation gang for the Molyneaux Pest Control Board. This work involved using poisonous gas, trained dogs and later shotguns for controlling rabbits. Earle describes how techniques for pest control changed over the years, moving towards aerial control by plane. Earle also describes his family history and early days growing up in Alexandra.
