Wilma grew up in Lauder where her parents managed Lauder Railway Hotel, later moving to Clyde where they then ran the Drapery shop in the building which is now Oliver’s Lodge and Restaurant. Wilma married Peter Paulin, a Clyde Orchardist, describing their life on the orchard, with challenges such as frost fighting, all while raising 8 children. Later Wilma worked at Dunstan Hospital for 20 years as House Manager. She was also a founding member of Compassionate Friends, and started the Central Otago branch of Catholic Social Services.
