In this wide-ranging series of interviews, Bill Gibson talks with Sara Crawford about his life spent in the Tarras area. He reflects on his school days at Waitaki Boys High School during World War II and his time jackarooing at a huge Australian Merino stud. He discusses changes in Merino farming practices over the decades, and other topics such as rabbits and irrigation. He recalls his time on a World Rose Tour and his role representing New Zealand at International Merino conferences. Bill was awarded an MBE for services to agriculture in 1994 and believes you are ‘learning all your life’.
