In this short interview, Biddy Denniston tells Judy Hinsley about her early life living at Earnscleugh Homestead. This was built by her grandfather, Stephen Spain, and is now affectionately known as ‘Earnscleugh Castle’. Biddy recounts the challenges of station life in the 1930s and 1940s, particularly the effects of the Great Depression and the lack of manpower. She reminisces about school days with her twin brother, their two white ponies, and activities shared with her cousins.
