In this interview, John recalls growing up in Alexandra, the surrounding landscapes of orchards and open water races, and his time spent in hunting, fishing and holiday work . He goes into detail about the Breen family construction business, where he worked for over five decades. He describes the changes in the building industry such as paperwork, compliance and health and safety. John also recounts several adventurous civil construction projects undertaken with other notable business associates and close friends.
