In this interview, Kathi describes how she discovered and fell in love with pottery in the 1970s. As a member of the Alexandra Pottery Club, she progressed in learning about different ways of using clay and firing methods. Kathi was inspired to travel to Thessaloniki in Greece where she learned new techniques from a world-renowned master potter. Back in Central Otago, Kathi discusses her teaching experiences and how she established the Arts Trust and Art in the Garden. Kathi always has a pottery project on the go, and has lately begun exploring sculpture as well.
