This interview gives insight into Rod’s early life as he worked his way through various occupations until he reached his goal of working for himself when he became an orchardist. At the same time as running his business and raising a family, he involved himself in his community. These community activities included the positions of Millers Flat Fire Chief and Chairman of the Millers Flat Hall Committee. Rod also dedicated time to the development of the Roxburgh Gold Cycle Trail. After the trail was opened, he spent time maintaining it which led to him becoming an avid cyclist himself.
