It’s quite a journey from South Africa to Cromwell, in both distance and way of life. In this interview, Sandra first describes growing up in South Africa during the apartheid years. She describes the vibrancy of the different cultures there, reflects on the social impact of those restrictions and the ongoing challenges faced by South Africa.
In 2002 Sandra and her husband Wayne made the decision to immigrate to New Zealand to start a new life. She recalls her first encounters with rural New Zealand life, the path that led her family to settle in Cromwell, and the business and community involvement they have enjoyed.
