The Memory Bank is a digital repository for the online storage of documents, photographs, recordings and videos reflecting the lives of individuals, families and communities in Central Otago. These reflections tell stories, which collectively and over time, will form a rich record of Central Otago’s history and heritage.

Over time, it is envisaged that the Memory Bank will become a major heritage resource which could provide references for writers, historians, librarians, curators, genealogy enthusiasts, tourism operators and statutory authorities.

The Memory Bank is an initiative undertaken by Heritage Central Otago, developed in cooperation with the Department of Information Science at the University of Otago.
